Can an 8D section marked as completed and approved be entered and edited at a later date? Is the record locked after approval?

  1. Once you approve the section, it is not editable for a supplier. Nevertheless, you as a person who issued the 8D, can go to the approved section and edit it. The system will prompt you to confirm whether you want to edit the section although it has been completed and approved. edit after approved 8d
  2. Click on OK and you can start editing. The section status changes to In progress.
  3. At the same time the supplier receives an email, that the 8D has been changed. From that moment the section can be edited by the supplier as well.
  4. You can edit the approved section only if the whole 8D has not been closed. Once it has been closed, nobody can edit any sections.
